Yoast United signs American shooter

Vince Cole is Yoast United‘s latest acquisition for the new BNXT-League season. The 1.98-metre tall creative scoring forward comes over from the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (Sun Belt Conference) where he averaged 15.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1 assist in his last season. In 27 of his 33 games, he scored in double figures.

For Cole, Yoast United will be the first step in his professional career in Europe. The 22-year old player from Charleston is very enthusiastic after a conversation with coach Paul Vervaeck: “I am very excited to start my journey in Bemmel. Coach Vervaeck told me about the plans and what my role should be, then the choice was quickly made. I am looking forward to meet everyone in Bemmel and to treat the fans to beautiful basketball.”

Coach Paul Vervaeck sees the selection being filled to satisfaction: “The goal for this summer was first of all to shape the Dutch base of the team well, and that has worked out extremely well. Then it’s up to the technical staff to find good foreign players. We think we have found a good addition to our team in Vince Cole. In college and high school, he showed that he has a good shot and that he can find the basket easily.”
