Zeeuw & Zeeuw Feyenoord Basketball has signed its second American acquisition. Stacy Beckton Jr. will be one of the guards of the Rotterdam squad in the upcoming season.
The 23-year old Beckton brings excellent numbers from the United States, where he played for American University in the NCAA. The Florida-born, 1.92 metres tall Beckton played 30 games last season. He averaged 13.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 steals.
With the arrival of Beckton the selection of Feyenoord Basketball is almost complete. Earlier it was announced that Jeroen van der List, Isai Sow, Pieter Buijs, Terrence Bieshaar and Philip Metz will stay with the club. In this transfer window, the club already signed Marijan Obad (BAL), Ivo de Vreede (Charleroi) and Shavar Reynolds junior (Monmouth University).
Technical director Armand Salomon hopes to add another player to the team soon, which will be led by coach Toon van Helfteren and assistant Michael Kok. Salomon is pleased that the selection is almost complete so early in the summer. “With the team that is already there, we are further ahead than in the previous season. We have a broader selection anyway and there is clearly more balance in the group of players. It’s a great feeling for the technical staff to be able to go on holiday like this.”
