Spirou too strong for Liège

Spirou Basket Charleroi cruised to an easy win in the Walloon derby against RSW Liège Basket at the Country Hall (65-91) and remains in the running for the Belgian top 5 in the betFIRST BNXT League. 

From the beginning of the game, Spirou imposed its will and dominated the game on the physical level, as proven by their 21 offensive rebounds and 11 steals over the whole game. After one quarter, the gap was already 12 units (19-31). The Carolo team continued to build momentum and was well ahead at halftime (37-52). After the break, efficiency dropped on both sides but Liège was unable to react to worry their opponent. Charleroi had no problem to secure its victory (65-91) thanks to Tim Lambrecht (20 points and 8 rebounds), Vincent Kesteloot (19 points and 6 rebounds) and Rafael Lisboa (16 points). For Liège, only Justin Kohajda stood out by posting a double-double (14 points and 16 rebounds).

With a record of 6 wins and 6 losses, Spirou is now tied with Mons at 5th place. For Liège, the red lantern of the championship, the losing streak continues…
