In a postponed game in the betFIRST BNXT League, Spirou Charleroi got the better of Leuven Bears (75-64).
After the double defeat and the elimination against Leuven in the Belgian Cup this season, Spirou Charleroi took its revenge this Tuesday night at the Dome. Under the impulse of Alex Libert and Vincent Kesteloot (31 points between them), the Carolos took an excellent start (21-9 after 10 minutes). Faced with the intensity of the opponent’s defense, the visitors could not find their rhythm offensively.
Like Joshua Heath, their usual leader, who struggled to find his rythm (7 points and 2/15 on shots).
At halftime, however, Leuven was not yet out of it completely (38-30). Eddy Casteels’ troops even managed to come back in the third quarter (47-47). Charleroi responded however with a decisive 19-4 run that gave them a valuable win in the fight for the top 5.
Alex Libert finished the game with 21 points and 6 assists. For Leuven Jakob Cebasek signed a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. In the standings, les Cazrolos are back in the top 5 with one game less than the teams ranked ahead of them.
