Dutch part BNXT League resumes

The Dutch part of the BNXT League resumes Thursday evening. The last couple of weeks home-playing clubs could postpone games in the hope that the specators would be welcome again in December. Many clubs made use of that. From now on, this is no longer possible and games in the Netherlands will be played without an audience for the time being.

The first game after the international break will be in Den helder where Den Helder Suns will host Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden. Leiden lost the opening game of the competition and is now unbeaten for seven games. Den Helder has only won 2 of its 10 games. Leiden players Worthy de Jong and Asbjørn Midtgaard had international commitments, but all the other players were able to work quietly towards this game, which of course also applies to the Suns. That Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden is the favourite is beyond dispute, although Sporthal Sportlaan can still be a bit spooky. The game starts at 19.30 hours.

The Hague Royals take on Yoast United at 20.30 hours. Two teams at the bottom of the league standings, both with only one win. The difference is that the team from Bemmel has only played six games, The Hague Royals ten. Where it was expected beforehand that the Royals would be in the lower part of the ranking, more was expected from Yoast United. Coaches Paul Vervaeck and Jeroen van Vugt had a lot of work to do in the last month. For the Royals, there was a major setback. The injury of Bryce Smith proved to be such that the season is already over for the American.
