Heroes brings Donte Thomas to Den Bosch

Heroes Den Bosch has reinforced itself with power-forward Donte Thomas. The 26-year-old American played for Donar Groningen last season. He did the same in the aborted 2019-2020 season. In between, Thomas (2.01 meters) played for the Italian Pallacanestro Cantù (Ita-1).

Thomas played college basketball at Bradley University from 2014 to 2018, after which he began his professional career with KTP Basket (Fin-1). In Den Bosch, Thomas signed a contract for one season. In 35 games last season, Donte Thomas averaged 7.7 points (56.1 FG%) and 4.31 rebounds.

Head coach Erik Braal about the acquisition of Thomas, with whom he previously worked together in Groningen: “Donte has already proven himself in the BNXT League and the role he will play at Heroes suits him well. Donte is strong, athletic and has scoring ability. He is a great addition to our team.” Technical manager Roel van de Graaf added: “Donte fits the profile we had in mind perfectly. In addition, he is familiar with the method and expectations of our coach.

Thomas himself is also enthusiastic: “I am looking forward to it and I am ready to get started at Heroes Den Bosch. Working with coach Braal again is really something I am looking forward to and which I was looking for. I can’t wait to get started in Den Bosch and to impress in the BNXT League and Europe.”
